According to the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, one in four people over the age of 74 are missing all of their teeth. Tooth loss not only affects your self-esteem and image, but it also impacts your ability to chew, speak, and socialize effectively. Untreated tooth loss can lead to loss of or damage to remaining teeth, jawbone deterioration, and more.

At Diagonal Dental of Boulder, Dr. Brett Amedro provides dental implant restorations and bone grafting. Whether you need to replace one or all of your teeth, our team can help you complete your smile. Please call us for a referral to a dental implant surgeon or if you need to restore your existing implants.

What Is a Dental Implant? dental implants boulder co

Dental implants can be a viable solution for patients who experience tooth loss in Boulder. A dental implant is a thin titanium screw-like post that seamlessly fuses with your jawbone over time. A dental implant permanently replaces the entire tooth, from root to crown, and can rejuvenate your smile.

The main parts of a dental implant are:

  • A titanium implant post
  • An abutment (connector)
  • The artificial tooth or teeth

Dental implants can replace one or all teeth, restoring your bite and confidence.

Healthy Roots Keep Your Teeth in Place

Think of your mouth as a grove of aspen trees. Each tooth is like a tree connected beneath the earth through its rhizomatic root system. Likewise, each of your teeth has roots that connect to the jawbone, which keeps bone tissue alive and healthy.

When you lose a tooth, the bone no longer gets the necessary stimulation for bone growth, eventually resulting in bone resorption. Jawbone resorption can make your face look sunken in or prematurely aged. However, a dental implant can prevent this from occurring.

Dental implants permanently replace missing teeth to maintain the function and appearance of your smile.

Understanding the Cost of Dental Implants

Dental implant costs vary depending on the number of implants, any necessary pre-treatments, and the type of implant. Your dentist or a team member breaks down the costs during your consultation, before you begin treatment.

The average costs per tooth:

  • A dental implant crown costs approximately $1957.00
  • A dental implant abutment typically runs $1222.00
  • Price estimates are not final and do not include surgery fees, pretreatment costs, x-rays, or related work.
