Meet the Team at Diagonal Dental of Boulder

Dr. Brett Amedro

Dr. Brett Amedro, DDS, completed his Bachelor's in Biology at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. He then completed a Master of Physiology degree at North Carolina State University. After completing his Master's degree, he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). To further his clinical dental skills, Dr. Amedro then completed a one-year, optional general practice residency at the Veteran's Hospital of Denver. While there, he learned advanced techniques in oral surgery, dental implants, root canals, and periodontal treatments. 

Before owning and operating Boulder Family Dental Center, Dr. Amedro had his private practice for ten years in Frisco, CO, where he provided outstanding dental care for the people of Summit County, Colorado. 

Dr. Amedro incorporates the newest, most up-to-date dental technologies in his practice. He uses the most modern digital x-ray system, digital impressions, and intraoral scanning, places and restores dental implants, and uses a diode laser to improve his restorative and crown and bridge work. Ultimately, he believes investing in his practice with new technology allows him to deliver the highest quality dentistry to the people of Boulder and the surrounding communities. He has a calm and friendly chairside manner that puts his patients at ease. 

Dr. Amedro consistently attends continuing education seminars. Each year, he exceeds the continuing education hours required by the Colorado Dental Board. Annually, he also attends the regional Rocky Mountain Dental Convention. His clinical interests include digital dentistry, dental implant surgery, grafting techniques, root canal treatments, and conservative restorative dentistry.

Outside the office, Dr. Amedro enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and children. He has been involved in organized baseball much of his life, playing and umpiring the game at the collegiate level. He currently serves on the South Boulder Little League board and is active in the Boulder Thunderbirds baseball organization. He is a past member of the Summit County Colorado Youth Baseball board. Additionally, Dr. Amedro coaches girls softball in the Indian Peaks Girls Softball Association in Boulder.  

Shannon

Hygienist

Shannon brings more than 30 years of experience to her role as a dental hygienist, and her patients couldn't agree more that she's worth every one of them. Known for being thorough yet gentle, she takes the time to make sure each visit is as comfortable as possible — and her warm personality and quick sense of humor have a way of putting even the most nervous patients at ease.

Kim

Front Office Administrator / Office Manager

Kim brings more than 10 years of dental office experience to her role as our Front Office Administrator and Office Manager. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a longtime patient, you'll immediately notice her warm, welcoming approach — she takes genuine pride in making every person who walks through our doors feel at home.

When it comes to dental insurance, Kim is your go-to resource. She takes the time to help you understand your coverage, navigate the details, and make the most of your benefits — so you can focus on your smile, not the paperwork.

Mikayla

Chairside Assistant

Mikayla joined Diagonal Dental in 2025, bringing with her a warm chairside manner and a background in pediatric dentistry. Her experience working with younger patients has shaped her into a naturally patient, attentive, and gentle assistant — qualities that every patient at Diagonal Dental gets to benefit from.

Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, Mikayla is committed to making you feel comfortable and at ease from the moment you walk through the door. Her kind and caring approach makes her a valued part of our team, and a familiar, friendly face you can look forward to seeing.

Kylie

Dental Hygienist

Kylie is a registered dental hygienist who brings both expertise and genuine compassion to every patient appointment. With a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene and years of experience across private and public health settings, she combines sharp clinical skills with a warm, detail-oriented approach that puts patients at ease.

Kylie's commitment to oral health extends well beyond the operatory. She developed the Ruth House Idaho Falls Oral Health Program, which provides essential oral health care for homeless women in the community — a testament to her belief that everyone deserves access to quality dental care. She has also volunteered with Give Kids a Smile and Dental Freedom Day, bringing that same dedication to underserved populations of all ages.

In addition to her degree, Kylie holds advanced certifications in laser therapy, restorative endorsements, anesthesia, and silver diamine fluoride (SDF) application — allowing her to offer a higher level of personalized, comprehensive care for each patient she sees.
